Suzuki Burgman 400 Modifications
There is not much that can be done to this high performer. No manufacturers make any big bore kits, gear kits or other tuning goodies yet, and although it is a big seller in the UK, not so many are sold in Europe for the major aftermarket manufacturers to get involved.

Despite Suzuki’s claims, most Burgman 400’s give a peak rear wheel horsepower of around 25bhp. Because of the way the transmission works power around 40mph is 30 percent down (to reduce noise for the drive-by noise test).
Malossi make a new Multivar front variator transmission pulley and rear pulley spring that maintains engine RPM more consistently so that this engine RPM reduction does not occur. Engine RPM at 40mph is then running at peak power, giving a massive increase in acceleration in this area. In general, the acceleration between 25 and 70mph is improved so that the machine appears to have gained a lot more capacity compared to standard.

Dyno photo Tuning a Suzuki Burgman 400 Scooter Graph shows the performance improvements gained by fitting a Malossi Multivar 2000 front variator pulley
If you study the Before and After runs on the Dynojet graph above you can clearly see the difference the Malossi Multivar variator pulley makes.
